Club championship draws: Castlerahan begin defence against Killygarry

The draws for the 2019 Cavan senior, intermediate and junior football championships have been made this evening in the Hotel Kilmore, throwing up some thrilling matches for summer.

Senior champions Castlerahan will begin their defence of the Oliver Plunkett Cup against Killygarry, while Mullahoran will mark their return to topflight status with an opener against Division 1 league leaders Ramor United.

Last year’s beaten finalists Crosserlough meet Shercock, with Ronan Clarke’s Cavan Gaels taking on Lavey and 2015 winners Kingscourt set to line-up against Gowna.

The clashes of Ballinagh and Belturbet and Bailieborough and Ballyhaise are the stand out openers in the intermediate championship draw, while in the junior section contenders Denn and Knockbride must square off in Round 1.
