Table Quiz
Lacken Celtic have organise a table quiz to help support underage teams in the club. The Quiz will take place in the Millennium Pub on Friday 12th April. Your support would be greatly appreciated on the night so get a team of four together and get reading in preparation.

U8 Football Update
The 2013 season for the U8's is up and running. Training commenced the first week in March and despite the poor weather over the last few weeks there has been an excellent turn out at training. The calendar for the 2013 blitz's has been sent to all clubs with Lacken U8 playing in Group 8 with Arva, Munterconnaught, Drumalee & Ballymachugh. Dates for up and coming blitz's are as follows: 20th April in Lacken, 18th May; 1st June; 22 June; 20th July; 17th Aug & 14th Sept. Venues for the blitz's from the 18th May have not been set and the group is due to change after the second round of competitions.

U10 Football Update:
The 2013 season for the U10's is also up and running. The Under 10 panel has 14 players and despite the poor weather over the last few weeks there has been an excellent turn out at training. The team played their first game of the year against Drumalee on Saturday morning in Lacken. The game was dominated by Lacken throughout and they came out easy winners in the end.

The U10 blitz for 2013 will start on Saturday 13th April in Butlersbridge with Lacken playing against Shannon Gaels, Templeport, Butlersbridge & Killeshandra. All games are 10 a-side with points only and playing the ball is restricted to two touches. The dates for U10 blitz's in 2013 are as followes:

27th April in Kileshandra; 11th May; 15th June; 6th July; 10th Aug; 31st Aug & 28th Sept. Venues for the blitz's from May 15th have not been set and the group is due to change after the second round of competitions.

Minor Football Update:
The Minor team Southern Gales are progressing well in the Minor league. The team are out again on Saturday 13th April against Castlerahan at 5pm in Lacken.

Don't forget you can get kitted out in the Lacken Celtic club colours for 2013. The club have hoodies, rain jackets, polo shirts, beanie hats, gear bags and club jerseys available to order. Lacken Camogie Club:
Lacken Camogie Club will host a Beauty Blitz in Lacken GAA Club Rooms on Friday 5th April from 8pm to 10.30. Admission to the event is €25 and gift vouchers or for the event are available from Marie Sheridan 087 6490029 or any club member.

You will be welcomed on the night with a glass of Champagne followed by a wine & cheese reception. The event will include make up lessons, skin care demonstration, hair care advice and a perfume demonstration. You will also receive a treatment of your choice from the following list; Massage, Reflexology, Eyebrow wax and tint, Eyelash tint, Nails file & paint hands or toes.

First Round of Junior Camogie League
Lacken and Cavan Gaels met in the first round of the Junior Camogie League. They played in Terry Coyle Park, Cavan in ideal playing conditions last Saturday. Cavan Gaels were first out of the starting block when Sharon Brady scored a goal from a free taken not far out from the Lacken goals. Lacken replied with a point scored by Emer Brady from a free. Sharon Brady - Cavan Gaels scored another point from a free. Fiona and Emer Brady for Lacken scored another 5 points,Fiona 2 from play and Emer 1 from play and 2 from frees. This brought half time score Lacken 6 points , Cavan Gaels 1 goal and 1 point.

Second half saw Lacken gradually pull away from The Gaels with a goal from Emer Brady, a point from Michelle Ellis, 1 goal and 4 points from Ellen Murphy, and 1 point from Fiona Brady. The Gaels scored another goal by Sharon Brady half way through second half. This left full time score, Lacken 2 goals 12 points, Cavan Gaels 2 goals 1 point.

Both teams played well with some good defending from The Gaels and some good saves by their goalie. Lacken had a good all round game.

Lacken Ladies Football:
U12 training on Monday at 7pm in Lacken school and will take place on Wednesday night also.
U14 training continues on Monday & Wednesday evenings at 7pm in Lacken school
U16 training is on Monday & Thursday evenings at 7pm in Lacken Club rooms.
U8 & U10 training will continue on Wednesday at 6.30pm in Lacken Clubrooms
