Mount Leinster Rangers defender James Hickey believes that the current side are the best in the county ever.

The county star played a huge part in the club's latest success as they defeated Naomh Eoin in a replay to clinch yet another county title.

"That was as tough as they come," Hickey told the Carlow Nationalist. "This team has been knocking on the door for ten years. We had won three titles in five years, now it's four in six.

"This is a great team. Rangers are one of the best club teams to come out of Carlow. This team owes nothing to anyone. We said to a man that we would not leave it (final) behind us." Tweet
