A bad day for Offaly GAA has got a lot worse with the news that the county's hurling review / implementation committee have resigned en bloc.

Midlands 103 is reporting that the group, which is chaired by former Ballyboden St. Enda's manager Liam Hogan, has stepped down in frustration at Offaly county board's implementation of their recommedations. Brian Carroll, who was appointed Director of Hurling following his inter-county retirement last year, and former All-Ireland winning camogie captain Marion Crean, are among those to resign.

Offaly has also ended its underage coaching programme with Athlone IT, which was aimed at improving the strength and conditioning of young players.

The debacle comes just a few hours after Pat Flanagan revealed that he learned of his removal as football manager through his wife, who had read about it on social media.
