Roscommon GAA have confirmed this evening that senior football boss Kevin McStay has added a new selector to his backroom team for 2017.

Creggs clubman Ger Dowd takes up the role and is the third member of a management set-up which sees Liam McHale retained as coach.

In a statement released on their website, Roscommon GAA also confirmed that the size of the backroom team and playing panel for the new season has been 'significantly reduced' while a development panel 'made up of players in the 19 - 23 years age group' has been established.

Meanwhile, Ciarain Murtagh will remain as team-captain with a vice-captain due to be named after the FBD Connacht League in January.
