Roscommon county board have said that their senior football team's management position is open following the resignation of joint-manager Fergal O'Donnell.

O'Donnell and team selectors David Casey and Stephen Bohan vacated their posts on Tuesday night, leaving other joint-manager Kevin McStay and selector Liam McHale as the remaining two from the management team which was installed for the 2016 season.

Although the board released a statement last night to confirm that the manager's position was now open, McStay looks likely to now take the reins as sole manager, with McHale continuing in his selector's role.

"Following on from the resignation of Fergal O'Donnell from the position of joint manager of the Roscommon Senior Football team the Roscommon GAA County Management Committee has agreed to open the position of County Team Manager to an open competition," the board's brief statement read.
