Australia manager Alastair Clarkson believes a USA team should feature in International Rules and the current series turned into a tri-series.

Clarkson's squad landed in Dublin yesterday following a stint in New York which saw them preparing for Saturday's one-off test match against Ireland at Croke Park.

The Aussies' boss admitted that he was interested in playing an extra test this year in the Big Apple.

"We'd love to do that, in actual fact we had plans to try and do it for this year," Clarkson said in today's Irish Daily Star.

"There's a huge Irish contingent (in New York). Maybe somewhere further down the track we can have a US-based side that can participate in a tri-series.

"We really want to showcase our game to the world. If we could take it to the eastern side of America then that would be really exciting."

Australian officials are set to discuss the future of the series with the GAA this week.
