St Eunan’s booked their place in the Ulster club senior football championship semi-finals after seeing off Fermanagh champions Erne Gaels by 1-14 to 0-10 at Brewster Park.
The Letterkenny side, managed by former Fermanagh boss Kieran Donnelly, came through a difficult quarter-final test against the Belleek men to keep their provincial ambitions alive.
The Donegal champions made their decisive move after the interval, with Conor O’Donnell Jnr proving particularly influential. He finished with an impressive personal tally of 1-5, including the goal which helped put the visitors firmly in control.
St Eunan’s led by 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time with the help of scores from Ciaran Moore, Eoin McGeehan and O’Donnell before the latter struck the net early in the second period. Further scores extended their advantage to 1-10 to 0-3.
Erne Gaels, inspired by Ultan Kelm, attempted to mount a comeback but St Eunan’s maintained their grip on proceedings to secure a seven-point victory.
