Cuala stormed to the Dublin senior football title with a commanding 3-15 to 1-6 victory over Castleknock at Parnell Park, securing their second county crown in three seasons.
Con O’Callaghan led the charge with a superb 2-5 haul as Cuala turned an early deficit into a 1-9 unanswered scoring burst to take a commanding 1-9 to 0-2 lead into half-time.
Castleknock struggled to break down Cuala’s defence, with Rob Shaw eventually ending their lengthy scoring drought after the restart.
Kevin Stephenson briefly raised Castleknock’s hopes with a goal, but Dublin ace O’Callaghan struck his second penalty before substitute Jamie Conroy added a third goal late on.
Eoin Kennedy and Charlie McMorrow contributed two points apiece, while captain Michael Fitzsimons also chipped in as Cuala sealed an emphatic win.
The Dalkey side now turn their attention to the Leinster club championship, where they face Offaly champions Tullamore on November 1st, while their hurlers remain in contention for a potential county double.
