The GAA’s Central Council has ruled that the All-Ireland senior hurling championship quarter-finals be staged at neutral venues.
It has been suggested that provincial runners up have home advantage in quarter-finals of the Liam McCarthy Cup race, but today’s decision from Central Council means that the games will remain at neutral grounds for now.
Last year’s quarter-finals saw Tipperary playing Galway at the Limerick’s Gaelic Grounds in Limerick and Croke Park playing host to the meeting of Limerick and Dublin.
This year’s All-Ireland SHC quarter-finals are set to take place on the weekend of June 20/21.
