Paul Flynn feels Dublin are making progress under Ger Brennan, despite suffering a second half collapse against Armagh last Saturday night.
The relegation-threatened Dubs lost a thrilling Allianz Football League Division 1 contest by 1-25 to 2-24 at Croke Park after surrendering an 11-point lead. But speaking on RTÉ’s Allianz League Sunday, Flynn was far from downbeat.
“It was an exceptional game of football,” the former Dublin star said.
“It showed physicality, it showed bite, it showed class from both teams in attack and defence at times and obviously the kickout variations at times as well.
“From a Dublin point of view, a lot of positives to be taken from that, probably more than in any other game this season, if you ask me. Particularly in attack. They scored 1-22 from the top six.
“Niall Scully kicks 0-4, he was instrumental. Sean Bugler kicks 0-4. Paddy Small kicks 0-6. Killian McGinnis chips in with 0-3.
“There was a lot of positives to be taken there but for me, probably, looking at Dublin and trying to find what is their new identity, it came in their defence, it came in the attitude. They were like animals – they were ravenous at times.”
