Tyrone’s 2024 hopes have suffered another setback with the news that Richie Donnelly won’t be involved.

It has been widely reported that the Trillick clubman has opted out of the county set-up ahead of the start of the Allianz League next weekend. The Red Hands have already lost two key players in All-Star full back Ronan McNamee and Niall Sludden to retirement over the winter.

An All-Ireland SFC winner in 2021 and two-time Ulster SFC medallist, Donnelly was outstanding as his club secured a Tyrone SFC and SFL double in 2023. He has made 71 appearances for the Red Hands, with his last coming against Donegal in last year’s All-Ireland SFC preliminary quarter-final.
