Discussions are continuing regarding the proposal to rename Páirc Uí Chaoimh 'SuperValu Páirc'.

Cork GAA released a statement while last night's in-camera county board meeting was still in progress confirming the proposal to sell the stadium naming rights to SuperValu as part of a lucrative deal, and that discussions with the retail giant were continuing.

The county board also acknowledged the "public debate" over the plan and added that "no matter had been finalised prior to the meeting of delegates" last night.

The short statement read: "While no matter had been finalised prior to the meeting of delegates to the County Board on Tuesday evening, both sides have been conscious of the public debate that followed recent speculation in the media.

"SuperValu and Cork GAA remain committed to continuing their engagement, as both parties share a common interest in supporting Gaelic games across the county, and discussions are continuing."
