David Quinn’s late point snatched a 0-14 apiece draw for Sligo against Kildare in this afternoon’s All-Ireland SFC round-robin clash at Markievicz Park.

Despite a 67th minute red card for talisman Sean Carrabine, the Yeats men were able to rally in the closing stages of this one and it was substitute Quinn that earned them a share of the spoils in the end.

Darragh Kirwan’s point saw Kildare go in at the end of an airtight first-half up by 0-7 to 0-6 and while the hosts made the better restart to go up by two, it was the Lilywhites that looked destined for the points heading towards the finish line.

Aaron Masterson, Kirwan and Jack Robinson (free) all hit points down the home stretch that had the scoreboard reading 0-14 to 0-11 with three minutes of normal time remaining.

However, to their credit, Tony McEntee’s men never threw in the towel and a pair of points from Niall Murphy set-up an opportunity for an equaliser which Quinn took with the last kick of the game.
