RTE Sport confirm Keegan and Canning as new GAA pundits

Recently retired Mayo star Lee Keegan has been confirmed as a new GAA pundit for RTE Sport.

Today (Sunday) saw the national broadcaster unveiling its new star-studded punditry teams for 2023, with Jacqui Hurley set to replace Des Cahill as the new presenter of The Sunday Game highlights show.

Keegan, Tyrone great Peter Canavan, the all-time leading scorer in the Allianz League, David Tubridy (Clare) and Tyrone’s Enda McGinley joining a line-up of ongoing football panellist which include the likes of Colm Cooper, Tomás Ó Sé and Sean Cavanagh.

Meanwhile, Galway legend Joe Canning is set to be come the newest member of RTE Sport’s hurling punditry team, joining the likes of Dónal Óg Cusack, Liam Sheedy, Anthony Daly, Brendan Cummins, Ursula Jacob, Jackie Tyrell, Shane Dowling, John Mullane, Shane McGrath, Brian Carroll and Michael Duignan.

The broadcaster also confirmed that Joanne Cantwell will continue to present The Saturday Game Live and The Sunday Game Live.

Declan McBennett, RTÉ Group Head of Sport, said: "This season marks a reigniting of The Sunday Game with fresh off the pitch panellists alongside seasoned experts, in moves that are consistent with the evolution of The Sunday Game throughout the years.

"New presenters Jacqui, Damian and the new panellists are hugely experienced and perfectly placed to bring all of the excitement and analysis of the GAA Championship to our audience later this year."
