New Antrim manager Andy mcEntee

Andy McEntee has been confirmed as Antrim football manager for the next three years.

McEntee's surprise appointment was ratified by the clubs at a county board meeting last night and comes just five weeks after he stepped down as Meath manager after six years.

An All-Ireland club SFC winning manager with Ballyboden St Enda's, McEntee takes over from former Tyrone star Enda McGinley who had been in charge for the last two years, leading them to promotion from Division 4 of the Allianz League last year.

“Antrim County Board are delighted to announce that Andy McEntee has been ratified as the new Antrim senior football manager on a three-year term," a statement from Antrim GAA read.

“Andy brings a wealth of management experience at the top tier of both Club and County football. Cuirimid fearadh na fáilte roimh Andy!”

McEntee said in his first interview as Antrim manager: “I’m sure this surprises a lot of people but it probably surprises me as much as anybody else."
