Casement Park will not see its funding affected after Northern Ireland's Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey announced yesterday that a £36 million package to upgrade and redevelop regional football stadia has been shelved.
The Minister said she will no longer be able to progress the plan following the collapse of Northern Ireland's power-sharing Executive.
However, as Casement Park is a designated Executive Flagship project, there will be no impact on plans to redevelop the West Belfast venue which has lain idle for almost a decade.
TweetAs a Flagship project funding for Casement Park is guaranteed.
