2017 runners-up Mooncoin went one step further this year by claiming the All-Ireland club junior hurling championship title.
Willie Coogan's side just got the better of Cork's Ballygiblin (0-22 to 1-18) in a tense and exciting decider that went right down to the wire in wet and windy conditions at Croke Park.
Patrick Walsh lofted over seven points for the winners, while Martin O’Neill's sensational sideline cut rounded off a memorable day for the Kilkenny champions, and it was they who started brightest to tear into a 0-6 to 0-2 lead.
Ballygiblin soon clicked into gear with points from Joseph O'Sullivan, Michael Walsh and Darragh Flynn before free-taker O'Sullivan reeled off the last two scores of the half to send his side in front at the break, 0-9 to 0-10.
It was all to play for in the second-half as Mooncoin made the stronger start again, backed by the point-taking of Ciaran Quilty, Patrick Walsh and Killian Hogan.
Although they were rocked back on their heels when Dean Barry swooped for the game's only goal on 37 minutes, Mooncoin regained the momentum and found scores easier to come by from there on.
