Limerick hurlers have been struck by the cruciate ligament curse again.
Barry Murphy has become the second member of John Kiely's back-to-back All-Ireland winning squad to suffer the dreaded knee injury in three weeks. The 24-year-old forward sustained ligament damage during Doon's recent Limerick SHC opening round victory over Patrickswell.
He came off the bench for the Treaty County against Cork in last month's All-Ireland SHC final success at Croke Park. Peter Casey suffered the same fate in the same match while fellow Limerick teammates Richie English, Mike Casey and Sean Finn underwent cruciate ligament operations in recent years.Tweet
