Kilkenny legend Jackie Tyrrell described Sunday’s second-half performance from Limerick against Tipperary as the greatest he’s ever seen.

The Treaty men trailed by as many as 10 points before racing out of the traps in the second-half and going on to secure a 2-29 to 3-21 victory – and a third consecutive Munster SHC title in the process.

Speaking on The Sunday Game, Tyrrell was in awe of the All-Ireland champions’ display after the turnaround at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

"It was awesome, it was emphatic, Limerick just brought their game to a level that I don’t think any team in the country would have lived with," said the nine-time All-Ireland winner.

"Power, pace, determination, speed and clinical - it’s the greatest half performance of a hurling team I’ve ever seen."
