New Tipp managerial roles for Woodlock and Christie

James Woodlock and Paddy Christie, the new Tipperary minor hurling and U20 football managers, respectively.

James Woodlock and Paddy Christie have been appointed as Tipperary minor hurling and U20 football managers, respectively.

Former Tipperary senior hurler Woodlock replaces Paul Collins in the minor role having gained a wealth of experience in underage coaching with a number of county development squads since his inter-county retirement in 2015. The three-time Munster SHC winner, who led his home club Drom-Inch to the county SHC semi-finals last year, will be joined by his ex-Tipperary teammate Conor O’Brien, Damian Ryan, Brendan Ferris and Cormac McGrath as selectors.

Christie, the former Dublin footballer, meanwhile, will double up as Tipperary senior coach and U20 manager. The Ballymun Kickhams clubman is a key figure in David Power's senior set-up, helping Tipp to their first Munster SFC title since 1935 last November, and succeeds Tom McGlinchey in the U20 position.

The senior and U20 footballers will have the same management group in 2021. Tipperary GAA has confirmed its various management teams following a management committee tonight.
