Longford will be without Mickey Quinn for the rest of their 2020 campaign.

With his wife having recently had a baby girl amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the former AFL star has opted off the panel and says he will reassess things next year.

Quinn is set to be a huge loss to the Midlands whom were defeated by Derry earlier today as the Allianz Football League returned after a seven-month lay-off.

“I’ve stepped away for the rest of the 2020 season, whatever that may be,” Quinn is quoted saying by The42.ie

“I’ll reassess then but would hope to join back up in January or for the following season.

“One of the main reasons for playing has always been the joy and excitement it brings my family and friends but in these circumstances, it would do anything but that. My priorities have changed slightly.”
