St Brigid's 1-11

Padraig Pearses 0-8

Benny O'Brien's St Brigid's produced the goods at Dr Hyde Park to win their 17th Roscommon SFC title, dethroning Padraig Pearses in the process.

Brian Stack pounced for the game’s only goal with a powerful strike in the 41st minute and that helped establish a 1-6 to 0-4 interval lead for the Kiltoom outfit.

Pearses' struggled to gain any foothold in the contest. A Hubert Darcy effort had left them a point adrift (0-5 to 0-4) at the break with wind advantage to come but that was never a factor and their cause wasn't helped by losing the experienced Niall Carty to an injury.

Man-of-the-match Brian Derwin took the scoring honours with 0-4, Stack, Eddie Nolan and Ben O’Carroll were others to impress for a young St Brigid's team.
