Mayo SFC: Mitchels miss out on last eight after surprise seven-point defeat to Westport

Castlebar Mitchels have missed out on the Mayo SFC quarter-finals for the first time in 14 years after they were surprisingly beaten 0-15 to 0-8 by Westport in the final round of the group stage at Breaffy on Saturday evening.

As a result, Lee Keegan's Westport topped Group 4 and now face 2019 intermediate champions The Neale in the last eight with second placed Breaffy taking on Ballaghadereen.

Moclair Cup holders Ballintubber made it safely through to the knockout stages with an easy 1-16 to 0-5 victory over Davitts. The Group 2 winners have been drawn against Knockmore.

The other quarter-final tie will be between Ballina Stephenites and Aghamore. All four games are scheduled to take place this coming weekend.
