1-7 from centre forward Liam Healy was key in helping Sarsfields to victory in tonight's Cork SHC opener at Pairc Ui Rinn.

The Glanmire side produced the goods in the second half to beat east Cork rivals Midleton by 2-17 to 1-17 in their Group A clash.

After playing with the wind at their backs, Midleton led 0-14 to 1-8 at the interval, with Conor Lehane landing eight points but they were slow to restart when conceding a salvo of 1-2.

Aaron Myers bagged Sarsfields' second goal after the turnaround as they kicked into gear. Although Luke O'Farrell replied with Midleton's major, Sarsfields maintained their composure and hit back with two pointed Healy frees.
