Ryan McMenamin has revealed that the Fermanagh footballers are being forced to train in neighbouring Tyrone due to the lack of playable pitches in the county.

Speaking to the Irish News after Saturday night's heavy defeat to Armagh at Brewster Park pushed his side closer to the relegation trapdoor in Division 2 of the Allianz Football League, the three-time All-Ireland SFC winning defender explained that the Ernesiders wouldn't be able to train if his home club Dromore and Clogher weren't making their facilities available them.

“At the minute, Fermanagh are struggling badly for pitches and I spoke to the county board about it,” he said.

“Only for the good of some clubs in Tyrone, Fermanagh senior team wouldn't be training. At the moment you can see that in the performance, but we are not shirking from it.

“We are being moved from pillar to post; we don’t have a base and it is affecting us in that we can’t do what we want to. That is the crux of the matter, but that is not up to me. That is up to the county board to sort it.”
