Kieran Kingston is resigned to being without Mark Ellis for most, if not all, of Cork's Allianz Hurling League campaign.
“Mark has a stress fracture in his leg and will be missing for a couple of months," the Cork manager said of the Millstreet defender in the Echo.
"That’s very unfortunate for him but on the plus side Christopher Joyce is back in with us and ready to go after two cruciate operations.’’
The Rebels welcome All-Ireland champions Tipperary to Pairc Ui Chaoimh tomorrow night and Kingston stressed that they're eager to bounce back from last Sunday's first round loss to Waterford.
“Firstly, we want to win every game that we play, we don’t want to be losing games. Tipp will be coming down on Saturday night having beaten us a few times last year and, hopefully, we can change that," he continued.
“Playing Tipp is always a huge game, it’s going to be tough after last Sunday and we expect another huge battle, you’d expect nothing less from Tipperary. That’s the nature of the league."
