Former Kerry supremo Eamonn Fitzmaurice has insisted that he would never manage any other county team.
However, the 2014 All-Ireland SFC winning manager - whose brother-in-law Paul Galvin has taken the reins in Wexford - has refused to rule out a return to the Kingdom hotseat in the future.
“No, I wouldn’t manage any other county ever,” the Finuge man told the Irish Independent at the GAA.PDST Future Leaders Leagan Gaeilge launch in Croke Park yesterday.
"Certainly, I'd like to get involved with my own club again. But no, to be honest, I would never see myself getting involved with another county. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to face Kerry, so it wouldn't appeal to me."
Meanwhile, Fitzmaurice has no concerns about David Clifford's ability to captain Kerry at the age of 21.
He’s more than capable,” he continued.
“I think the only factor against him is how young he is. But he’s into his third season, he’s a vocal presence in the dressing-room, he will get plenty of support in the dressing-room, he has a strong home environment and will get plenty of support at home which would be important if he does hit a dip in form.
“So I don’t see any downside there. His personality is very grounded, he is not going to get carried away and if anything it might inspire him a bit more."
