Portlaoise legend 'Bruno' bows out

One of the GAA's most decorated players has decided to call it a day.

Midlands 103 reports that Portlaoise's Brian 'Bruno' McCormack has retired after winning 15 Laois SFC and two Leinster club SFC medals with 'The Town'. In October's Laois SFC final, the 38-year-old forward scored three points as Portlaoise saw off a stern challenge from first-time finalists Killeshin to claim a 12th Jack Delaney Cup in 13 years.

The former Laois footballer actually has 16 senior championship medals in his possession when the SHC memento he won in 2004 is taken into account. His last appearance in the green and white jersey came in last weekend's Leinster club SFC semi-final defeat to Eire Og.
