Borris-Ileigh manager Johnny Kelly is in no doubt that the heart and determination in the side was what got them over the line in last Sunday’s Tipperary SHC final.
A 33-year wait was ended when Borris-Ileigh defeated Kiladangan in the county final at Semple Stadium as they ground out the win in a tight game.
Kelly, who has now won four county titles in three different counties over an eleven-year period was quick to heap the praise on his players.
“Heart and determination has brought these guys to where they are today. The pitch was very greasy and then you add in the factor it is a final. We all understand that finals are never won easy,” Kelly told the Midland Tribune.
“We had to dig it out and they showed great character and that’s what it is all about.”Tweet
