Rathdowney-Errill (Laois) 4-16
St Rynagh’s (Offaly) 0-10
Mark Kavanagh struck for 1-10 as Rathdowney-Errill had minimal fuss in ousting St Rynagh’s in this afternoon’s Leinster club SHC quarter-final in Portlaoise.
The Laois champions were ruthless in their 18-point victory over the visitors, pulling away in the second-half to outscore their opponents by 4-7 to 0-4.
At 0-14 to 0-8, Roddy King fired home the winners’ first goal and the flood gates opened as Mark Kavanagh (penalty), James Ryan and Laois star King added three more majors to turn the showdown into a shutdown.
The now prize for Rathdowney-Errill is a semi-final date with Carlow champions St Mullins after they shocked Cuala at Netwatch Cullen Park this afternoon.
