There was high drama at Tuam Stadium yesterday evening when Dunmore MacHales beat Oranmore-Maree 4-3 on penalties to progress to the semi-finals of the Galway IFC.

Mayo and Leitrim were involved in the GAA's first penalty shootout last January when they met in the Connacht FBD League and the same method was used to decide yesterday's game after the sides had finished level on 2-15 to 1-18 after extra-time.

Traditional giants Dunmore eventually won on penalties after a Conor Gleeson save was followed by Padraig Costello's winning spot-kick.
