Meath senior team manager Andy McEntee has been handed another three year term and will continue at the helm until 2022.
McEntee’s appointment was unanimous at last night’s county committee meeting in Dunganny.
Chairman Peter O’Halloran told delegates that it had been discussed at a recent management meeting and he put forward the proposal of another three year term with a review after two years and it was seconded by Paddy Watters (Duleek-Bellewstown).
The chairman said there was great pride in the county that they had reached the Super 8s for the first time, though it was disappointing that they didn’t get a win.
“Everyone is now looking forward to next Spring and the start of the FL campaign with Meath competing in Division One,” O’Halloran remarked.
McEntee took over from Mick O’Dowd at the start of the 2017 season and this year guided Meath to NFL Div 1, the Leinster final and the Super 8s.
McEntee’s management team still has to be finalised and is expected to be ratified at the next meeting on October 7th.
In reply to a question from the floor the chairman said that no decision had been taken regarding a management team for the Under -20s.
