Eamonn Callaghan rates Saturday night's Qualifier victory over Mayo as "the best day" of his 16-season Kildare career.
The intercounty veteran came off the bench and kicked a crucial point as the Lilywhites stormed to a stunning 0-21 to 0-19 success at Newbridge.
"It's actually one of the few that we've come out on the right side," the Naas ace is quoted in The Irish Examiner. "Ah, it's just unbelievable. It had tension. It had everything. We knew it was going to be crazy and it was. It was just unbelievable to come out the right side of that. It's not often we do.
"Throughout all the years, we've had great times and great wins and great days in Croke Park, but to do that here, against a team who have been the second-best team in the country for a few years now, it was brilliant.
"To get a win over a seasoned team like that in Newbridge after everything that happened, the emotion of the whole day and the atmosphere, it's definitely the best day I've had in my career, and I've had a few fair years."
