Tim O'Mahony could yet be available for Cork's Munster SHC opener against Clare on May 20.

It was reported earlier this week that the Newtownshandrum clubman had fractured his elbow in last weekend's county SHC clash with neighbours Kanturk, but it's understood that the injury is not as serious as first feared and that he should be able to resume training soon.

O'Mahony made an impressive senior debut at centre back in last January's Allianz League opener against Kilkenny, having featured in attack for the Cork U21s last year.
