The Armagh hurlers' preparations for the Christy Ring Cup have been hit by Paddy Kelly's resignation as manager.
Kelly has stepped down after a disappointing Allianz League Division 2B campaign culminated in relegation for the second year-in-a-row. The Meath man spent only four months in charge, having replaced Sylvester McConnell last December.
Padraig O'Connor has been appointed interim manager and will take charge of the Orchard County for their first time on May 12 when they travel to Ballycran to face Down in the first round of the Christy Ring Cup.
Armagh chairman Michael Savage said: "Paddy has given valuable inter-county experience to many of our young players over the past year. On behalf of Armagh County Board, I would like to thank Paddy and his management team for their time, dedication and commitment."
