A number of Tipperary and Cork supporters got a nasty shock this week when they were issued with parking fines following the Allianz Hurling League Division 1A clash in Thurles on March 11 last.
According to the Tipperary Star, the fines were issued to those who parked with two wheels on the footpath about a mile from Semple Stadium on the Holycross Road. Those affected are said to be fuming as it was the first occasion fines were issued for parking in this location. To make matters worse, they were merely cooperating with Gardai and stewards with regard to parking arrangements around Semple Stadium.
Match-goers were informed that there was restricted parking available in the vicinity of the stadium as the usual green areas which are used as carparks were very wet on the day.
