High Moss Sarsfields member named Ulster GAA Volunteer of the Month for June

Twenty-three-year-old Calum Stevenson from High Moss Sarsfields GAC in Co. Armagh has been awarded the Translink Ulster GAA Young Volunteer of the Month award for June 2025.

The award is presented each month to young volunteers whose efforts best demonstrate the volunteering ethos and community spirit of the GAA.

Calum has been playing a central role in Sarsfields for the past six years, both as a youth club volunteer and a valued member of the club’s main committee.

He contributed to the organisation of the club’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, showcasing both his strong organisational abilities and creative flair. 

He also demonstrated his marketing talent by designing the promotional materials for the relaunch of the Club Sarsfields programme, which significantly boosted awareness and engagement to help to raise vital funds. 

On match days, Calum oversees the running of the tuck shop, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. He is also a dedicated member of Sarsfields’ centenary working group and has been influential in planning celebratory events will lead up to the club’s grand centenary ball.

Presenting Calum with his award, Ulster GAA President Michael Geoghegan said: “Calum exemplifies the spirit of a young GAA volunteer, fully immersed in club life. His dedication and willingness to contribute to the High Moss GAA community across various roles is truly commendable. 

“His sterling volunteering efforts are an absolute credit to himself and his family. Well done Calum!

“His efforts in arranging sponsorship packages demonstrate his ability to foster relationships that benefit our club. He embodies the spirit of community and youthful enthusiasm.”
