Crossmaglen avoid upset to advance to Armagh SFC quarter-finals

Crossmaglen Rangers advanced to the Armagh SFC quarter-finals with an impressive 1-19 to 2-11 victory against Silverbridge at the Athletic Grounds today.

With 15 minutes remaining, Cross' trailed by 0-11 to 2-10 after goals from Paddy Reel (penalty) and Paraic Keating handed Silverbridge the initiative. But the 'Bridge were rocked back on their heels by a powerful final quarter surge from their neighbours.

Rian O’Neill kicked two 45's to send the 45-time county champions to the front in injury-time before Caolán Finnegan's goal completed a 10-point swing. The sides were level on 0-8 apiece at the interval.

Dromintee will provide opposition for Rangers in the last-eight after they defeated Sarsfields 3-8 to 1-6, while Clann Éireann's reign as champions ended with 1-9 to 0-11 defeat to Mullaghbawn, who face Granemore next.
 
Clan na Gael are also through to the quarter-finals thanks to their 0-13 to 1-8 win over Carrickcruppen. Clan now meet Killeavy and Ballymacnab take on Maghery.
