Antrim are set to be without wing forward Nigel Elliott for Sunday’s Leinster SHC third round clash against Kilkenny at Corrigan Park (1pm).
The Dunloy Cuchullains clubman suffered a broken metatarsal during the Saffrons’ drawn encounter against Dublin last month and missed out on last weekend’s defeat to Wexford as a result.
It’s now been confirmed that Elliott faces a number of weeks on the sidelines which is another blow to manager Darren Gleeson who is already without Niall McKenna (hamstring) and team captain Conor McCann (cruciate).
“It is too hard to put a time-frame on it. I’ve been told six weeks, but it depends on how quickly it heals. I’d like to get back for the Westmeath game and play in the Championship, but I can’t put a time on it,” Elliott is quoted saying by BelfastLive.co.uk.
