Intermediate title for Truagh
December 01, 2013

The Ulster Club IFC Cup is heading to Truagh in Monaghan.
AIB ULSTER CLUB FOOTBALL INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL.
Truagh 0-17
Eskra (Tyrone) 0-12
Truagh, who were competing at this level for the first time, opened a new chapter in their history when they clinched the Ulster club football intermediate championship title when they proved too strong and too adept for Tyrone champions Eskra in a totally absorbing and at times highly exciting contest in Armagh on Saturday evening last. Truagh led at half-time by 0-9 to 0-6 and went on to consolidate with some excellent moves and some great scores in the second-half as the Tyrone side struggled to contain a very talented Truagh attack in which Christopher McKenna and Daniel McKenna were outstanding.
Entering the final 10 minutes of the game Truagh had opened a seven points lead with the Tyrone champions then throwing caution to the winds and going on all-out attack but they found the Truagh defence in resolute mood and goalkeeper Ian Treanor took off a number of fine saves to help his side over the line and they were not at all flattered by their five points winning margin.
