On a weekend that Kilmessan won their 29th Jubilee Cup with a final day win over Longwood and Blackhall Gaels defeated Gaeil Colmcille to land their first intermediate hurling title since 2005, we pick our final club hurling team of the week.

1. Mark Brennan (Kilmessan)

Led his team by example and produced two outstanding saves early in the second half when Longwood really needed a goal.

2. Patrick McGovern (Kilmessan)

Very effective in the last line of defence, made many a clearance and broke up a lot of dangerous Longwood attacks.

3. Shane Brennen (Kilmessan)

Yet again outstanding on the edge of the square for the champions. Kept a tight rein on Longwood danger man Anthony Healy

4. Conor Delany (Blackhall Gaels)

Was easily the best defender on view as Blackhall Gaels won their first intermediate hurling championship since 2005

5. Eoin Marsh (Kilmessan)

Probably gave his best display in the club colours this year as Kilmessan made it title number 29 .

6. Thomas Delany (Blackhall Gaels)

The team captain kept his defence together under severe pressure towards the end along with holding Gaeil Colmcille danger man, Seamus Mattimoe, scoreless for the hour.

7 Eoin Lynch (Longwood)

Wore the number 8 jersey but popped up all over the field for the Longwood cause. His high fielding and work rate was a joy to watch.

8. Darren Reilly (Kilmessan)

Voted Man of the Match and rightly so. It a game that free taking was always going to be crucial and Reilly duly obliged with a fine tally of nine points from placed balls.

9. Keith Reilly (Gaeil Colmcille)

The Kells captain was easily the best player on view in the intermediate final. Scored four fine points from play and drove his team on at every opportunity.

10. Ger O'Neill (Kilmessan)

In our books a serious contender for the Man of the Match Award. Since coming back from illness O'Neill has proven what a great asset he his to Kilmessan hurling club. His work rate and ball control on the day were top drawer and his pass for Stephen Clynch's goal was exquisite.

11. Damien Healy (Longwood)

Never gave up the fight as Longwood went in search for their first title since 1936. Varied his game from centre back to the number 11 jersey.

12. Stephen Morris (Blackhall Gaels)

Scored 1-3, gave Gaeil Colmcille loads of problems and was involved in most of the Blackhall scores.

13. Johnny Meyler (Blackhall Gaels)

Like his team mate Morris, Meyler ended up with 1-3 and was always a threat to the Gaeil Colmcille rearguard.

14. Nicky Horan (Kilmessan)

Now one of the veterans on the Kilmessan team, Horan used all his experience to great effect. Scored 1-2, his goal effectively killed off the Longwood challenge

15. Stephen Clynch (Kilmessan)

Missed the last three months through injury. Was introduced to the game at half time and showed his class by getting the games crucial opening goal to set Kilmessan on the road to victory.
