Carnaross keeper Ollie Murphy

Former Meath star Oliie Murphy has been handed the manager's bib at his own club Carnross.

Murphy is fondly remembered by Meath fans for his goal in the 1999 All-Ireland final victory over Cork and his brilliant performances in the 2001 championship, when the Royals won the Leinster title but suffered a surprise All-Ireland final loss to Galway.

Ollie made his senior inter county debut playing for London in 1994 against Galway in the Connacht SFC

The talented forward played in goals last year for Carnaross and was instrumental as they made it to the semi-final of the JFC going under to Dunsany by a point.

The winner of two All Irelands and two All Stars has management experience already been involved with Meath Hill and Moynalty in the past.

Ollie takes over from Alan Stephens.
