St Peters Dunboyne won the Meath minor football league Division 1 title (sponsored by LMFM) with a five point victory over Summerhill on a fine evening in Bective. Corner forward Conor Keeley scored 2-4 of the winner's total.

The first half was a very tight, tense low scoring affair. David McEntee got the opening score of the game. The same player had a penalty saved by Summerhill keeper Shane Kavanagh minutes later. The winners dominated the opening exchanges but were rocked by a brilliant individual goal from Conor Frayne. The talented Frayne won an U14 championship medal with 'The Hill' last year. Dunboyne bounced back with three unanswered points through Keeley (2) and county minor Ronan Jones. Another county minor Ronan Ryan responded with Summerhill's opening point after 20 minutes. Keeley kicked his third but St Peters were rocked stunned again by Frayne when he waltzed it for his second goal on the stroke of half time. Summerhill went in at the break 2-1 to 0-5 ahead.

Eoghan Crowe extended that lead with the opening score of the half. Dunboyne took control for the next 10 minutes and were rewarded with a goal and a point each from that man Conor Keeley and Conor Finn to take a 2-7 to 2-2 lead. Summerhill, who lined out without county full back Iarla Hughes (hamstring), battled back with three pointed frees from the boot of Conor Lyons and the gap was down to 2 with five minutes remaining. Just when it seemed that Mick Lyons' charges might get something from the game Keeley struck for his second major and the title was heading to Dunboyne.

A red card was issued by referee Colm McManus to Dunboyne's Calvin McMahon in the final minutes

After the game Meath Minor Board Chairman John Kavanagh presented the MFL Division 1 Cup (Michael Morris Perpetual Cup) to Dunboyne captain John Finlay.
