£1.4m raised for Tyrone Garvaghey Complex

Staggering sum raised by 272 fans each contributing £5k towards the contruction costs. For this, patrons get their name etched in glass in the foyer of the new centre of excellence and more importantly invest in the future of Tyrone GAA.
A further £1.35m of government funding and local councils also promising funds suggest they are well on the way.
The government funding was secured after an intervention by Hilary Clinton so there is goodwill beyond Tyrone for this project.
The centre is in use currently and expected to be completed on schedule for offical Sept 2013 opening to mark 10th Anniversary of Tyrone's big breakthrough.
Although there is still more work to do I can't help but be impressed by the Club Tyrone team and others in pressing on with such an ambitious project at a time when most counties are struggling to keep afloat.

Fair play to them. They deserve it.

This is an excellent project, one which
embraced all that is good about the GAA.

I hope the other counties in the north will likewise be given the same amount of government funding to invest in their development programmes.

Jimbo - Diesel is Armagh. Did ye not see the funds the Tyrone boys raised for Dev when he went out to raise money for the new republic?

Ye lets keep this a Master free zone he'll drain the optimism out of it.

Well done to all involved. £5,000 is some commitment in the times that are in it. Might there be enough left over to buy Mickey Harte a packet of disposable razers?

I'm hugely impressed by the fact that Club Tyrne were capable of raising that money.

Well done to all involved...

Only having a laugh with both comments!
