There is a fella lives near me handmakes sticks. No machines used all done by hand. Only £18 a pop. Seen a few their nice sticks got the nephews a couple for christmas. He'll make them to order doing them in whatever shape and weight you desire. Should be able to get them out to Armagh city for you free of charge. Their called O Corra hurls. Fellas a good hurling man, used to play for the rossa. I'd certainly recommend him. ring him up he'll do you deals for christmas bundles and the like. think he also sells balls and hurling bits and bobs too. also fixes hurls! flankie (Antrim) - Posts: 281 - 16/11/2009 22:04:33 485617 Link 0 |
Thanks lads for all your help. Will ring around and get a few prices. We used the caman hurls here in Armagh, there clinkers. You probably laugh at an owl Armagh man up in Antrim be we look up to the likes of Antrim and Down big time. We mightn't be at your levels yet but we will get there some day as the work is being put it at underage around the Armagh city area. My son is 14 and I'll tell ya I reckon he could cut it with the boys his age in Cork, Tipp, and Limerick. JoeyMcILroy (Armagh) - Posts: 8 - 16/11/2009 22:10:52 485626 Link 0 |

God, he still isn't making them is he? Couldn't be good for his health at this stage, heard he had given it up a few years ago, must be starting off again with the Belfast hurling revolution taking place. The_facts (Antrim) - Posts: 130 - 16/11/2009 22:33:37 485672 Link 0 |
Aye he's providing the arms for the next generation of Belfast hurlers to take up. Have been used to great effect to clean up all under age titles in the city and will be soon used o put the senior championship in a stranglehold also. flankie (Antrim) - Posts: 281 - 17/11/2009 10:06:38 485871 Link 0 |

O'Corra hurls are highly recommend. He uses ONLY Irish timber not any of this stuff from Poland that other hurley makers are using at the moment. My father in law would be friendly enough with owl Mick and he picked me and the son up a couple of fine swords from him during the summer. Only flaw was that they were a tad on the dry side, but that had to be expected with it being the summer etc. My father in law told me he had to switch the mobile off during championship time because he was being inundated with orders (considering this man is a one man band working out of his garage). I actually might order my son up a few as a Christmas present, has anybody got a number for this guy? corriganpkdog (Antrim) - Posts: 30 - 17/11/2009 19:58:38 486584 Link 0 |
