We had mixed fortuned over the last week on the playing fields. We had 3 teams out and we returned a win a loss and a draw. Our Junior hurlers had a comprehensive win over Bray Emmets in the Junior hurling Championship on a scoreline of 3-14 to 4-2. On the football front our Division 4 team went down @ home to Tinahely on a scoreline of 0-4 to 0-10. Scorers for Aughrim were, Bobby Newsome 0-2, John Gunning 0-1 and Frank Byrne 0-1. In a Division 2 League game we played out a very entertaining draw with our Championship opponents Eire Og. We were trailing @ the break by 0-5 to 0-4 and we than got our noses in front with a goal from Richard Keegan. Eire Og then got on top for a while and eventually clawed their way back into the game to finish level on a scoreline 0f 1-9 to 1-9. Scorers for Aughrim were, Richard Keegan 1-2, Brian Canavan 0-2, Patrick Kavanagh 0-1, Gavin Byrne 0-1, Billy Byrne 0-1, Shane O Loughlin 0-1 and Stephen Mann 0-1. Tweet
