St.Patrick's G.A.A. Club Notes

Our under 12 football team reached the semi finals of the county under 12 football championship following there 5-05 to no score in the quarterfinal against Ballybricken at Claughaun last Saturday morning. We lead at the break by 2-04 to no score with Jamie Malone hitting Ballybricken for 1-01 in the first five minutes Craig McNamara added another goal ten minutes later and then Ryan Maher and Danny Taylor added points. After the break Ryan Maher added his second point from a free and Craig McNamara got his second goal. Danny Taylor and Cory Wells added a goal each to leave out final tally for the morning at 5-05 to 0-00. Well done to Tony Malone who look after the team on the day with manager Peter Sheehan on holidays and also to the supporters who came out on big numbers to support this team. Team line out as follows Antoine McNally, Jamie Kennedy, Alan Walsh, Alan Hogan, Mark Whelan, Dylan O Dwyer, Aidan O Brien. Shane Halpin, Ryan Maher, Danny Taylor, Craig McNamara, Craig Collopy, Jamie Malone, Corey Wells and Owen Storan. Sub used was Colin Maher. Its all go for the trip of an lifetime for our under 12 footballers when the will take part in a under 12 football blitz at Croke Park against a Clare side on July 15th the first game will take place at 4pm in an three game blitz and the tour of the stadium is down for 3pm. this is an great Day out for our young players and it,Äôs great to many of the players parents and families interest in making the trip to make it a real family day out. Kenneth (Hammy) Dawson is doing great work running a fundraiser to help with the cost of this trip so don't be shy when your approached. Our under 16 footballers suffered another set back in the under 16 county football championship last week when Adare got the better of us by 4-10 to 1-05 even though we were short a few players due to holidays we battle well. We now take on Sean Finns of Rathkeale in the hurling championship next Wednesday at home at 7.30pm. Our minor hurlers were level at four points each with Ballybrown when the game had to stopped due to an injury to the referee in the minor hurling championship at home last Friday evening we hope the referee will make a full recovery. Next Tuesday evening our minor footballers will face Monaleen at home in the next round of the championship this game has a 7.15 start. Our intermediate football team failed to get over Croom in the third round of the championship going down by 2-09 to 1-13 this was a game that we should have won but in championship it's a different story we now have open the championship for others to get a second chance we line out as follows Darragh McMahon, Brien Clancy, Keith Phelan, Barry Twoomy, Tony Quigley, Mark Phelan (1-00) Barry O Doherty, Cian Hanrahan, Gearoid Phelan, Owen Harahan (0-02) John Mullane (0-03) Patrick Mullins (0-03) Jeffrey McNamara, Darren Hanrahan and Niall Phelan, subs used were Christy Cambell (1-01) and Conor Kavanagh. The best of luck and many years of happiness to Club committee member Patrick Doyle who will marry Susan Reidy this Friday evening.
