Galvin to defer DRA appeal
June 28, 2008
Kerry captain Paul Galvin will wait until after Sunday week's Munster SFC final against Cork before appealing his six-month ban to the Disputes Resolution Authority.
Galvin's plea to have his suspension reduced was thrown out by the Central Appeals Committee on Thursday night, meaning his hopes of playing again in this year's championship now rest solely with the Disputes Resolution Authority.
The Fingue clubman has decided to defer taking his case to the arbitration body to remove the spotlight from his case and allow his team-mates to focus on their provincial title defence against the Rebels.
Kerry's team management and officials have expressed disappointment at Galvin's latest failed appeal against his "excessive suspension" of six months for the incident involving Tipperary referee Paddy Russell in Kerry's first-round win over Clare.
