O'Hara eager to put league woes behind him

Cork's Derek Kavanagh and Sligo's Eamonn O'Hara battle for possession
Sligo have put their relegation to Division 4 of the NFL behind them as they knuckle down to the task of retaining their Connacht title, star player Eamonn O'Hara has claimed. The Yeats County will have only the Tommy Murphy Cup to look forward to unless they can beat London and Mayo to reach this year's Connacht final. But despite their poor league form, the former All-Star is convinced they will be a different team in the championship. "Our year starts now," he said. "We need to put the effort in and start performing. The league is done and dusted now. As an ego thing, it was embarrassing the way it turned out for us. We performed badly and it was a shocking result to get relegated. We let ourselves down. "But it's not the be-all and end-all. There is a general belief that we can get to the Connacht final and win it. Why not think like that? People can be blinded by the chit-chat and everyone else talking about us in the Tommy Murphy Cup. But there is no outstanding Connacht side. "We firmly believe we can put it together."
